Let us take you on a journey through one of South Africa's most famous drives.

Before the late 1950's the Route 62 was the main route to get between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, and so during that time many beautiful little villages or "dorps" as the locals fondly call them, became popular.  Then came the arrival of the N2 highway in 1958 which steered most of the traffic away from these quaint little communities. But through the years they have kept their charm and character, and the journey through them holds many lovely surprises and adventures.

Route 62 is seen in Red, and the Green route is the N2 Highway.
Every Monday and Thursday for the next 2 or 3 months we will take you a little further along the journey. Join us for a ride as we take a virtual "blog-through" experience of each little town/village on this route, which also happens to be the longest wine route in the world! Let's start at the very beginning.... CAPE TOWN!!

We would suggest that you take a few days to explore the awesomeness that is Cape Town before departing on the Route 62 Drive. There is so much to see and do, that you will find it hard to drag yourself away, hence the need to return to South Africa again and again.

Some of our top places we would suggest you visit would be Table Mountain ( of course!),  Camps Bay, Clifton, Noordhoek, Houtbay, Kalk Bay, Simonstown, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek... oh the list goes on, and perhaps we will do a blog about  #The best of Cape town" soon!

Some of the popular sites, Boulders Beach (Simonstown); the "Africa Trading Port" building at the V&A Waterfront, and the view over Houtbay from Chapmans Peak.
Next stop to look forward to on the Route 62.... PAARL! Make sure you have your tanks filled and read for the road..
