Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, located in southwestern Uganda, is famous for its dense, ancient rainforest and its role as a sanctuary for mountain gorillas. The park, which covers over 330 square kilometers, is home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Tracking these magnificent creatures through the thick forest is a highlight for many visitors. 

The park offers several gorilla trekking routes, and encounters with the gorillas provide a deeply moving experience.
