South Africa – not only a paradise for travellers with stunning landscapes and diverse cultures but also for golfers. South Africa offers an incredible variety of amazing Golf courses, which literally steal your breath away!

We tried to highlight our top 5 among all the beautiful and most frequently requested golf courses. Here is our Top 5:
1. Fancourt
Fancourt, South Africa’s premier lifestyle resort, is nestled in the heart of South Africa’s Garden Route, 7 km from George Airport. The resort lies on 613 hectares of pristine countryside sheltered by the Outeniqua Mountains, which is the name giver for one of the 2 courses: the Outeniqua course. Ranked 17th in South Africa by the Golf Digest experts, Fancourt’s Outeniqua golf course offers a leisurely and entertaining golfing experience. It provides a more forgiving terrain than its counterpart, the Montagu. They are both 18-hole courses.
Especially the view with the incredible mountain range behind, the walk between the 11th and 10th will remain in your memory as one of the most breath-taking scenic views.

Set in the heart of the tranquil Constantia Winelands and surrounded by the Silvermine mountain range lies Steenberg Golf Club. Situated on the Steenberg Golf Estate, this 18-hole Peter Matkovich championship course is consistently regarded as one of the finest golf courses in Cape Town and South Africa. Near perfect conditioning all year round brings players back to try and conquer its many majestic holes over and over again.
The signature hole is the Par 3 seventh. The green is an island surrounded by water and a large bunker. Fortunately the prevailing wind makes the club selection a little easier and, when the player’s ball lands safely on the green, one can often hear a sigh of relief as many people have succumbed to this great hole. No matter how you play the hole, you will definitely remember our seventh ;)

3. Pearl Valley
When it comes to famous parents Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus are the ‘Beckhams’ of the golfing world and opened one of the country’s most stunning golf courses in 2003. The unique touch of golf legend Jack Nicklaus is evident throughout the pristine course. Rated by Golf Digest magazine as the 5th best in the country for 2018/2019, it is on the must-play list of local and international golfers.
In typical Golden Bear fashion, the course features vast expanses of sand and is tailored towards risk and reward style golf. Water hazards and shrubland line the fairways placing an emphasis on the ability to keep the ball in play over sheer power.

4. Pinnacle Point
Pinnacle Point golf course is designed by the award-winning architect Peter Matkovich and will challenge the most talented golfers. It was constructed during 2005 and 2006 on one of the most dramatic coastal sights in the world. We have seven holes that hug the cliff sides and boast magnificent views of the ocean, cliffs, and white waters - not to mention the spectacular golf holes themselves.
Pinnacle Point Golf Club has an exceptionally well-balanced golf course, that will challenge the most talented golfer. However, as a result of a minimum of five tee boxes per hole, it allows the average golfer to enjoy their round of golf and perhaps post a personal best score on “The best golf course on the planet” (Darren Clarke).
Pinnacle Point is arguably South Africa's most dramatic golf course with a number of its holes perched on the edge of a cliff, high above the ocean. The course only opened in 2006 but since then has gone from strength to strength and is now widely regarded as one of the best places in the country to play. The course stretches to over 7,600 yards from the championship tees, but these aren’t for the faint-hearted, with plenty of forced carries which are simply too long for the average handicap golfer to manage. Fear not though, there are 5 tee positions to choose from, allowing golfers of all abilities to find their comfort zone and enjoy this spectacular course.

Situated in the Western Cape along the world famous Garden Route lies one of the best pit stops a golfer could take. Arabella Golf Club is often seen as one of South Africa’s leading golf course and is a great place for everyone to play. Measuring in at just over 7,000 yards the course is designed in such a way that it offers a unique challenge to all golfers depending on which tees you play from. On top of the stunning layout, the course also looks out over the beautiful Bot River Lagoon and makes an incredible setting for a round of golf.
