Cederberg Ridge has recently opened and is a luxurious wilderness lodge offering delicious food, hospitality and adventure. The lodge overlooks the panorama of the Cederberg Mountains with its unique raw, rugged beauty. But this stylish retreat is within easy reach of Cape Town and the Winelands (2½ hours scenic drive) and only 5km from Clanwilliam.

It offers the authentic ambience of a modern African farmhouse with much use of wood, natural materials and earthy tones. The warm and inviting interiors give a light and airy feel. Yet the striking steel windows bring a contemporary touch. The lodge looks out over the indigenous gardens which melt into the fynbos, veld and mountains beyond. Enjoy relaxing around the pool, under the fever trees or on the stoep.

Cederberg Ridge introduces the natural beauty and hidden gems of the Cederberg through a range of excursions – both for the active and the more laid-back. Take in the mountain views while walking or mountain biking. Learn about the rock art, settler history and rural traditions. Explore the Cederberg, visit a rooibos tea farm or enjoy lunch at an alfresco beach restaurant on the West Coast. In summer, boating on the dam is ideal for the hot sunny days.

There are 9 spacious rooms and suites, each with air-conditioning, full bathroom, and private terrace. In the 7 suites, cosy window seats invite you to curl up with a good book or contemplate the glorious mountain views. In summer air-conditioning ensures a delicious night’s sleep. In winter you can curl up with a glass of wine around a wood-burning stove. The luxurious bathrooms have terrazzo floors, underfloor heating and a free-standing bath with a view. A generous indoor shower leads to the outdoor shower. Two suites can be combined into a two bedroom suite sharing a sitting room.

Back at the lodge, you can indulge in a pampering spa treatment, try your luck at croquet, or simply relax. In the evening, participate in some wine-tasting, or enjoy some story-telling at the fire-pit whilst gazing at the stars.
